Shoutout to the BK

Disclaimer: this is literally a story about a burger king experience.

Hey, shoutout to the Burger King employee who didn't know what a vegetable was today. I hope your day got better.

I was putting in an order for some household members at the drive thru today.

One of the burgers had "no vegetables" so I said "So, I need a double whopper, add cheese, bacon and mustard. But no vegetables on that please."

They were like ".....................what did you say?"

So, I repeated it, slower and clearer. Thinking they had like, misheard me.

But they were so confused. They were just like: "Vegetables? .... like... lettuce? Onion and ....tomato?"

I'm like "uh, yeah you know vegetables. lol"

And they wait another 12 years before they're like "But... pickles are okay right?"

So I'm patiently just like "no, no vegetables. Pickles are also a vegetable."

I'm just wondering did they not know what a vegetable was or had they just never received a request of that magnitude before?

It's like ... I suppose I could have just said: "plain, only cheese, bacon etc", but, I thought I was making it easier.

I also realize and understand a tomato isn't a vegetable.

But I don't think they were caught up on that at all.

This was a deeper issue.

I really hope they're alright, honestly.

It was one of those fast food experiences where nobody was greeting anyone at the speaker until the person in their car was begging out their window like "Hello?! Is anyone there???"

I thought maybe it was one employee all alone and scared. I was feeling really bad but when we pulled up there's was a bunch of them in there like dancing and shit? Super weird.
